When Geri returned earlier this week she got a standing ovation. Theatre-goers have been leaving the Piccadilly singing Stop Right Now after dancing in the aisles.Įven the Spices can’t keep away. And in the past week the response to Viva Forever! has been much more positive. Yet Les Miserables was panned by the critics when it opened in 1985 - and it is still running and about to be released as a major film. Had the critics got it right and the audience wrong? However, when Judy and Jennifer read the reviews, they were crestfallen to find the verdicts mostly ranged from luke-warm to scathing.
